Importance of Comprehensive Cancer Support

I truly, deeply, right down to my core believe that cancer survivors & thrivers need and DESERVE more comprehensive support.

Don't get me wrong - your oncology team is amazing - but they ARE NOT going to help you eliminate side effects & stay cancer free. This is simply outside of their "scope of genius." But that is ok - because I can help.

I know you care deeply about your health. You have hopes & dreams of what your life will look like after cancer and it's an honour to help you achieve that.

My Philosophy

Many oncology experts disregard the importance of lifestyle strategies in staying cancer free. But there are thousands of research papers highlighting the critical importance.

But here's the catch.

There are also many "cancer experts" online who will promote or sell UNPROVEN products & strategies.

But here's a better way -

My philosophy has always been to use ANY scientifically proven strategies to eliminating side effects & stay cancer free. In fact- this is how I personally went from stage 3 ovarian cancer to cancer free!

When you consistently apply proven methods known to help eliminate cancer, then you find power & peace. You are truly doing everything in your power to put cancer in the past.

But I need to clear up the fact that sometimes going from stage 3 to cancer free looks like a miracle - it was absolutely not!

So let me take you back and show you where it all began for me.

Early Career -

For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to help people with cancer. For a long time it didn't make sense (but now it's crystal clear). I didn't have any personal experience with cancer (no tragic family cancer story to speak about) but I knew I wanted to help THIS group of people.

So I did my undergraduate degree in Pharmacy followed by a highly competitive acute care residency which allowed me to better care for patients at their most desperate.

I started my career working in an oncology infusion clinic. Helping patients during their cancer treatments and managing their side effects. But it didn't take long before something didn't feel right.

The healthcare system has a very narrow view - chemo, surgery, radiation, drugs. My patients were experiencing severe side effects from their chemo and the solution was always - more drugs. Drugs to manage the side effects of other drugs. This didn't feel right or complete. There was something missing here. There had to be a better way to eliminate side effects & stay cancer free. So I went searching. I wanted to be trained by oncology experts - by the best.

I landed at the University of Toronto where I completed a doctorate degree (College of Pharmacy) in supporting people with cancer in eliminating their side effects and staying cancer free. Using comprehensive and holistic strategies to put cancer in their past. When I took these new approaches and started applying them to my patients - they got significantly better.

My Cancer Diagnosis -

But then everything changed -

I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer at the age of 30 years old.

Barely any side effects & no family history of cancer, I was being given a 39% chance of surviving to just 5 years. It was a terrible stat that I simply could not accept.

Because I truly follow my own philosophy, I wanted to use every strategy scientifically proven to help me get to cancer free & stay cancer free. So I got to work -

First a surgery to remove the cancer and one of my ovaries. Then chemotherapy.

Every day, I used comprehensive strategies to help me recover from surgery and chemo cycles. Anti-Cancer Nutrition, Targeted Exercise, and Transformative Mindset Work.

Once treatment was complete, that's when I really dove in. There is so much that cancer thrivers can do to reduce their risk of recurrence. You have so much power. As an ovarian cancer survivor - I was going to make sure I did it all!

This experience allowed me to truly understand all aspects of cancer on a deeply personal level. I am a much better clinician now - having gone through cancer myself.

The Cancer Freedom Program-

After my own cancer experience, I could not ignore the massive holes in our health care system. I was no longer content downplaying the impacts of holistic lifestyle strategies to simply recommend more drugs.

So I left my career with the healthcare system entirely.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all saying your should decline traditional medicine. It saved my life. But you need more than just this!

If you want to feel completely healed from cancer - fully put this experience behind you - then you need a more comprehensive approach. That's exactly what I've helped over 500 women do in the Cancer Freedom Program.

Other Important Stuff

While I LOVE to help people with cancer and I think the constant changing oncology landscape is fascinating (yes I'm a bit of a science nerd) - I also have an incredible life outside of oncology.

Family

Married with 2 young children (had them both after cancer). Our little family unit is everything to me. On a typical day you can find us at the hockey rink or making crafts at the kitchen table.

Freedom

Growing up and living in Canada has allowed me the freedom and privilege to be surrounded by beautiful landscape and wonderful people.

Fun

In my spare time, I'm very active (biking, hiking, swimming, lifting weights) and I LOVE watching reality cooking shows (Hello - Top Chef) although I'm not much of a cook myself ;)

Your Health is Everything

Without your health, you have nothing. As cancer survivors, we fortunately understand this first hand. So when confronted with a cancer diagnosis, you know you need all the support you can get.

Eliminating side effects & staying cancer free sounds like an unattainable dream to many but fortunately it becomes a statistical reality when the correct strategies are applied.

It's been an absolute blessing to not only survive and recover from cancer myself but to help so many other people do the same.
